Walpurgis Night – Spring Festival

Walpurgis eve comes on 30th April and its history goes back to the 14th century. In Sweden what we above all celebrate on Walpurgis eve is the arrival of spring. At Skansen there is a bonfire, a speech in honour of the spring by some well- known Swede, singing by a student chorus and music and dancing until midnight.
